Over Diwali some of our talented desi brothers and sisters reported on their new Disney Junior series, "Mira, Royal Detective!" Kal Penn, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Leela Ladnier, and Nakul Dev Mahajan who voice the cast of the series posted teaser visuals on social media and we can't wait!
Disney will make history in Spring 2020 with the premiere of "Mira, Royal Detective," a new children's animated series that highlights the diverse cultures and customs of South Asia. Marking a new milestone for representation, the show will air on Disney Junior in the U.S. (and globally) and feature an all-star cast of Hollywood's leading Indian and South Asian stars including Kal Penn (Sunnyside), Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Frieda Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) and newcomer Leela Ladnier in the title role. In addition to educating American children about South Asian culture, the producers and cast also hope it will empower not just South Asian children, but children from every background.
