One of VEYLEX's favorite pop artists, Vardaan Arora just released his latest single "What If." Vardaan has been consistently releasing singles since 2016 with his debut, "Feel Good Song," which currently sits at 2 Million plays on Spotify! We did a little Q & A with Vardaan to talk about his latest release and what we can expect from him in the future! Check out his answers and have a listen to "What If" below!

1. What was your inspiration when writing "What If?"

My anxious thoughts led me to write 'What If'. I've always been as vocal as possible about mental health, because I struggle with those problems myself, and channeling my feelings into a melody for the song seemed cathartic. Everyone deals with self-doubt from time to time, but people with chronic anxiety disorders can't shake those doubts. It's awful, because most of the time you don't even know the pain someone is in - it's all in their head. I still wanted the song to sound like me as an artist, so I made sure the summery, tropical beats contrasted the darker lyrics. Also wanted the chorus to be sticky, just like those doubting thoughts can be.

2. What was the process like working on the song?

Working on music takes me out of my head, which is one of the reasons why I love it so much. I wrote the bulk of the song before flying into Nashville to record it. That's where I've recorded most of my music, and I've grown to love the city. It all happened over one weekend, and the post production ended up taking a few weeks...a lot of back and forth. I get super picky about how I want the final product to sound. But that's also the beauty of being an independent artist - you have so much more creative control.

3. What can we expect next from you?

I'm still recovering from this release! So the future is up in the air at the moment. I'm definitely still writing, and I'll go back into the studio when the opportunity presents itself, you know? I've also been toying around with the idea of writing for other artists, and collaborating with them. There's so much talent in the industry. I'd love to learn from some other people who are killing it in the pop game right now.
